Nursing Practice—DNP

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) curriculum prepares Registered Nurses to provide top-tier organizational, clinical and cost-effective healthcare leadership. Our graduates assess, design, implement and evaluate healthcare services globally for diverse populations. The program prepares practitioners to guide nursing practice and policies in various healthcare settings by utilizing evidence-based data and technology. The program is delivered online with minimal on-campus class time and at half the regular tuition rate.

PROGRAM LENGTH

  • BSN to DNP—65 credits for students with a bachelor's degree in nursing. Full-time students can complete the program in four and a half years.
  • MSN to DNP—56 credits for students with a master’s degree in nursing. Full-time students can complete the program in three and a half years.
  • APRN to DNP—40 credits for advanced practice registered nurses. Full-time students can complete the program in two and a half years.

APPLICATION DEADLINES

The Doctor of Nursing Practice program only admits new students for fall semester. 

POINTS OF DISTINCTION

  • APRN—Be prepared as a nurse educator with a clinical doctorate degree.
  • MSN—Obtain FNP preparation while earning a doctoral degree.
  • BSN—Transition seamlessly from BSN to DNP with FNP focus.

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree (or non-U.S. equivalent) in nursing from an NLNAC, CCNE or ACEN accredited school and a minimum admission GPA of 3.25 (on a 4.0 scale) advancing to 3.5 with matriculation.
  • Three recommendations from professionals such as advisors, major professors and employers.
  • Resume describing employment, research or special projects.
  • Statement of Purpose reflecting your philosophical perspective, personal, professional and academic goals, and reasons for seeking the graduate program.
  • RN Licensure (or non-U.S. equivalent).
  • APRN certification for advanced practice registered nurses.
  • Criminal background, health status and drug screen.
  • TOEFL, IELTS or PTE (academic): Students whose language of education is not English must submit English proficiency test scores.
